The joy of you in everything

Warning... this is post is full of mushy love stuff!

A few years ago my design company Dearly Beloved was lucky enough to be commissioned to design wedding invitations for some wonderful friends; now in their third year as husband and wife I was asked to paint a surprise Christmas gift!

This poem is an original painting created with watercolour paints and indian ink in the same colour palette as their wedding. It makes me so happy to see a couple of awesome people be awesome together!

Merry Christmas everyone! Don't forget to love each other :)

Father's Day Illustration for Baileys

I was really delighted to be commissioned for Baileys' Father's Day social media campaign. The brief's aim was to paint an image that conveyed a moment between Father and Daughter; it was really great to use my watercolour paints again and a real challenge. This image was featured on across their social media channels such as Facebook and Instagram.

Desiderata

My latest commission has been a real treat to illustrate; this time last year I painted a poem as a birthday gift and the birthday girl loved it so much her Mother asked me create another. This year she chose one of favourite poems 'Desiderata' by Max Ehrmann.
She picked out her favourite verses which are about being able to look beyond desired things and striving to be happy. I have really enjoyed dusting off the watercolours and creating a new character.

A look at my sketchbook pages...

Finally found some free time to do a little sketchbook work, hopefully I'm going to develop this images into some work for our exhibition this summer! Since starting to teach my watercolour evening class I am rekindling my love for layering up watercolour paints... more to come soon! I'd love to hear what you think :)
